Australian Prime Minister to call the election - Sky News

Early on Thursday, Sky News confirmed its earlier projections that the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison will call a federal election.

The news report further that the PM will visit the Governor-General early Thursday morning to call the federal election on May 18.

The Australian Dollar (AUD) gave little reaction to the news as it traded near its recently flashed six-week highs around 0.7170.
