The Fed can still hike in September – FOMC’s Dudley

William Dudley, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, has not ruled out a Fed rate hike at next month’s meeting, deeming it as ‘possible’.

In his comments earlier today, Dudley argued the time is coming for a rate hike, while he also said that US elections will not weigh on any Fed decision and that Fed Fund Futures markets are underpricing a rate hikes.

Dudley also said it is premature to assess the economic impact of the recent ‘Brexit’ vote, while the slower pace of growth in China was somewhat expected.
